Research suggests that aspiring mental health professionals report adverse childhood experiences at a rate significantly higher than other students (Dickeson & Smout, 2018). These experiences can be part of what draws people into the field, but they can also increase vulnerability to stress, burnout, and a tendency to prioritise others’ needs over one’s own.
In a small effort to offset this, I offer discounted therapy rates ($50 gap) for people working in the mental health sector, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, support workers, and trainees.
